Jobs at Second Bounce

Ah, working at Second Bounce, where the sun always, er... shines and every day seems like a holiday!  [Honest!]

Check below for details of our current vacancies, but even if we don't have any, we're usually interested in hearing from technical people with relevant skills and experience, just in case an opportunity arises.  So if you'd like to get in touch, feel free as long as you observe a few house rules.

House Rules

1. No agencies

Yes, we know - you're not like all those other agencies, you're different.  You only send CVs for the highest calibre of candidates meeting our exact requirements.  Trouble is, all agencies say that but they rarely do it.  So, sorry, but we do not accept CVs from any recruitment agencies.

2. Make sure you have the required skills

For technical positions, be aware that we develop predominantly using Microsoft technologies.  OK, maybe they're not the coolest, but they are capable and get the job done.  So whilst we know it's possible to cross-train from other technologies, then unless stated otherwise, you're probably wasting your time if you haven't got some experience in the following:

  • .NET C#
  • MS SQL Server/ SQL Azure
  • HTML
  • CSS (Sass and/or Less would be useful too)
  • JavaScript
Bonus points will also be awarded for knowledge of:
  • Responsive/mobile design
  • NUnit
  • Lucene
  • Git or BitBucket

3. No agencies

Don't know if we mentioned it, but we don't accept CVs from recruitment agencies.  Sorry.

4.  You don't have to be mad have flexibility or a sense of humour to work here, but it helps

Actually, that's not true.  This is not some big corporate organisation where everyone has strict roles and responsibilities.  You'll need to be prepared to muck in and help where required, but on the plus side, you're unlikely to be bored.  Oh, and the sense of humour will definitely be needed.

Current Vacancies

We don't currently have any permanent positions at the moment, but we are interested in hearing from any developers looking for part-time or short-term work.  So if you follow the house rules above, please get in touch.

Front-end UI Developer - Freelance/contract-basis

We're currently prototyping a new web/mobile application and are looking for someone with the appropriate skills to assist with the creation of a proof-of-concept MVP.  You will need experience in the following technologies:

  • Angular 4.x
  • Typescript
  • Ionic/Cordova

Ideally, you will also have experience in:

  • UI design
  • Mobile databases, e.g. PouchDB
  • Cloud services - Azure, Amazon AWS
  • CI/CD

Note that no experience is necessary of the back-end technologies (Web API 2/C# and PostgreSQL).

Being a freelance/contract role, there is plenty of flexibility in working practices.  It is not expected to need full-time commitment and while it will require some close collaboration/work in Chester, remote/home-based working is anticipated.  So if you think you fit the bill and this sort of work interests you, we'd be particularly keen to talk to you.
